Results Are In And My Conclusions Are Drawn

Results are in. It has been a week since the election, and I would like to reflect on its outcome by drawing a few conclusions.

No emotions, just my opinion.

1️⃣ The biggest investment in your child’s future is teaching them critical thinking skills. These are essential in the new era of AI, misinformation, and propaganda. “Always check information from at least three different sources before believing it” should be a rule carved in stone, framed, and mounted on their bedroom wall.

2️⃣ The Star Reputation Institute no longer has an impact on the average voter. If Taylor Swift’s opinion didn’t sway the majority of American voters, I’m not sure whose could.

3️⃣ Mass media are losing credibility and being overshadowed by social networks like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. People easily trust “unnamed sources” over verified information, often ignoring the importance of accountability in reporting.

4️⃣ Higher education reform is both inevitable and much needed. Statistics show that 54% of American adults read below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level, and nearly one in five reads below a third-grade level. Astonishingly, 46% of U.S. adults did not read or listen to a book in 2023 (National Center for Education Statistics, https://nces.ed.gov).

5️⃣ A rebellious mood is rising in the U.S., particularly among Team 🔵. I’ve seen dozens of posts from people who prefer to align themselves with the so-called Pacific and New England States of America rather than with the United States as a whole. Some are even considering migrating from red states to blue ones — or even abroad.

Overall, considering all the chaos in the world, Australia seems like the safest and most comfortable place on Earth. #election2024, #presidentialelection, #trump, #harris, #informationhygiene, #results
